Recollect

I recollect when
My world was a few
Square blocks around
My home and beyond the
Edge of the world I knew and
Where I felt relatively safe
Aware of the dangers all
Manageable with a bit
Of caution at the age
Of under ten then it
Got bigger to what
Ever city I lived in
Then in my teens
To my state and
Region not until
My mid 20s to
Western
Europe
And in
My 60s to
The whole world.
Each step made my
Comfort area seem small
And now I wonder how it
Will feel when the inner
Then the outer solar
System seems only
A small place too
Familiar for any
Thoughts but
The jump to
The next
Solar
System
Galactic arm
Then more galaxies
Beyond count across
The next big jump until
We learn to rearrange moons
And planets like living room
Furniture maximizing our
Goldilocks zone to add
More habitat areas to
Settle until we make
Real what our own
Imagination can
Envision as we
Recollect our
Spread out
And jumps
On a web
Upload

To
Memory
Behind our
Ear, Mastodon
