Labor

They labor so hard
For so little it is too easy
To forget a dollar now is not
Worth the dollar when we were
Young but the work is just as hard.
Basic and emergency health care
Seems only fair when we think
Of what they face to get food
And a decent place to live,
Or is it wiser to short
Change the folks who
Prepare our food
Clean our homes
Build our cities
Watch our kids
Make us comfy
As we wait
To die.
If not a
Labor of
Love then
Close enough
For compassion.
