I am 71 walking
In my neighborhood
In Crofton near Annapolis
In Anne Arundel County musing
That coincidence is curious as
When I was 27 I was asked to
Carry a leather pouch with
The Arundel family papers
To London from Texas to
A residence on Arundel
Gardens when I look
Up to see a face on
A tree sticking out
It’s tongue at me
As if to say hey
Who are you
To question
Fate you
Call
Coincidence
And I laugh as
The tree face is
Quite right though
The tree does not look
Like a proper Druid oak
But more like a tree
That cannot resist
Criticizing folks,
Beech Beech
Beech.
