Pumpkin

Halloween
Eve and my
Three pre-teen
Sons are improvising
Outfits for trick or treating.
My eldest finds an old grey rain
Coat he cuts to hang at ground
Level then cuts the bottom out
Of a large pumpkin face he
Puts on his head resulting
In a very scary outfit he
Delights in wearing
As he and his two
Brothers seek
Candy in the
Married
Students
Apartments
With hundreds
Of other kids intent
On having fun much
As my sibs and I
Used to do
When we
Trick or
Treated off
Into the dark
Night lit by porch
Lights and beaming
Smiles of children and
The doting parents
Hand and hand on
An adventure so
Sweet memory
Will not let it
Fade or
Dim.
