Uniform is a
Noble service
To society from
Those few whose
Sense of duty honor
And selflessness go too
Often unacknowledged by
Those whom they serve and
Protect in the field or barracks
In a squad car or patrolling our
Borders or in an ER or classroom
All serve and deserve our respect
Appreciation and better care of
Injured or when retired better
Protection for their families
A decent fitting place to
Retire after decades of
Commendable service
In defense of those
Principles that
Have made
America
The
Home
Of the Brave
And the land of
The free because
A few have chosen
To serve and protect.
Justice is not always a
Mercy nor is fair to be
Expected past grade
School but gratitude
For service must be
More than words
When the few
Profit from
Their law
While
Most
Do not,
So reward
Service and
Make the rich
Pay that reward
In taxes on wealth
Or lose the spirit
Of service to
Our mutual
Detriment.
