Memory has
Many floods in
The last 10,000
Years the formation
Of the Black Sea also
River floods all causing
Us to laugh nervously at
Films of folks unaware as
The water rises slowly and
Objects begin to float as the
Couple sits ignoring the flood
Happening in slow motion at
Their feet ankles knees then
The house floats off before
Drifting away which is just
What is happening to us
Today as our failure to
Recognize the next
Consequence of
Polluting our
Planet is
Even
Now
Occurring
Around us but
We are too busy
To pay attention as
We slosh to the fridge.
