Rainy

I am sitting
In a Mexican
Cafe on a rainy
November day dry
Inside the cafe cold
Wet outside eating a
Bowl of chicken tortilla
Soup listening to the rain
Drops patter on the tin roof
Watching the rain fall splash
Folks hurrying along the side
Walk umbrellas up slickers
Newspapers held aloft all
Equal in the rain unless
Dry inside my cafe we
Let our eyes meet
Look at others
Share our
Delight
We
Are dry
A Schaden
Freude moment
Smiling as we all
Mutually are aware
We are not out in the
Rain while others are,
Much like the wealthy
View the rest of us trying
To pay bills keep our job not
Get sick since if we miss one
Paycheck we are financially
Undone like tennis racket
Strings or the bonds we
Share as a recession
Is when you lose
Your job and a
Depression is
When I lose
My job just
So the few
Who are
Wealthy
Only
Fear the
Rest of us
May awaken
To how little of
What the rich have
Is ever taxed while so
Much of what we have
Is taxed down to the
Penny while we
Hurry through
The rainy
Society
Damp
Wet
Oblivious
It need not be so.
