Foolish
There are few
Things more foolish
Than an old man in love,
He is blind to reality living
On hope trying to share what
Whoever he has fixated upon has
No interest in sharing growing in
His imagination unaware of his
Own inadequacies blind to his
Ridiculous appearance only
Seeing and hearing what
He wants to yet still the
Happiest of fools as a
Miracle occurs when
The one he loves is
Similarly blinded
By love just as
Swept away
Just as in
A leap of
Faith on
An iffy
Gamble
But equally
Happy so what
Is the harm if neither
Is hurt and in the mean
Time both can be young
Again optimistic smiling in
An embrace of life after
So many decades of
Going to work with
Care for each of
Their children
Being a good
Spouse until
They are
Alone.
Why
Not love
Again and
Laugh at the
World’s view of
Simply inappropriate.
A fool in love is
Still in love
Even if
Old.
