I am seven
Playing hide
And seek with
My sisters who
Easily find me as
My breathing is my
Tell too heavy after a
Run to cover or else just
Tricked into hiding while my
Sisters take a break from baby
Sitting me a job that must have
Been tedious for them as later
Watching after my younger
Sisters and brother was
Enervating to me but
I never left them in
Hiding as a form
Of amusement
At their young
Naïveté but
Then I was
Not as
Sophisticated
As my elder sisters.
Walking along Saturday
Morning to the two cinemas
In Belleville they decided we would
See Three Coins in the Fountain
Rather than my preference of
Cartoons but what struck
Me was they even for a
Moment considered it
Necessary to explain
To me there was a
Choice and two
To one made
It their call,
I was just
Happy to
Be in
Their company.
I still am
At 73.
