Under God

I am eight
In the second
Grade when we
Are told the pledge
Of allegiance has been
Changed to insert under
God after one nation so I
ask my teacher what we
were under last year
And are we still
Invisible but
She rolls
Her
Eyes and
Shushes me since
During the McCarthy
Hearings invisible
Did not sound
So bad and
Indivisible
Was not
Economic
Political
Social
But
Under God.
