Crowd aware of searching
Eyes passing by you in
Search of what they
Have already
Decided is
Their
Object
Of pursuit
Like a grey
Cat on a foggy
Day who steals a
Peek at you then melds
With the mist and is gone.
Why hide? To remain
Anonymous as the
Herd tolerates
No deviance
From the
Norms
Of
Either
Appearance
Attitudes or most
Especially aptitudes
So paint yourself into
The landscape or a brief
Subtle note in music or song
Or a minor character in literature.
Rosencrantz and Guilderstern
Are both smiling off stage
With Voltaire tending
To their gardens
Safe eternally
Invisible
