Dip
It is dusk
The sun has
Dipped below
The horizon west
Into the Pacific though
Sunshine still brightens the
Mountains to the East for a few
Minutes before colors fade away
Strangely calm as passions flair
Up in the coming dark reaches
Out to embrace to touch our
Hearts alive as our secret
Imaginations allow us to
Be amid humdrum end
Of day bland routines
Second nature to us
But nonetheless we
Each are aware of
Our nighttime
Selves who
Oscillate
A heart
Beat
Too
Strong
To deny
In washing
Up supper dishes
Or watching the news
Our other night self who
If strong enough hunts by
Daylight masked by a smile
Of innocence while inside
We boil relieved only
By a dip into the
Cool Pacific
Waters
With a
Hiss
As
We kiss.
