Agreed upon but fun to teach
As we can switch perspectives to
Satisfy our current fad political
Economic or social so why do
We condemn the Salem girls
Young teens enchanted by
The believability of what
Ever falls out of their
Mouths about an
Old black island
Woman falsely
Accused of
Witchcraft
By Puritan
Morality
Greed
When
No court
Restrains the
Bent histories each
Society holds up to prove
Itself above the rest without
Mention of objective ethics
Or the kind teachings of
A radical rabbi whose
Divine message of
Forgiveness and
Love of our
Enemies
Or to
Turn the
Other cheek
And not to look
For selfish gain for
Ourselves in teachings
To help the poor downtrodden.
Eternal life is not our fate as our
Present selves last no longer
Than our death but some
Spark of soul continues
Not as us but as part
Of something bigger
A cosmic universal
Sentience our so
Narrow views
Interpret as
Heaven
When
It is
The heavens
Though we can
Not dismiss history
As mere legend
Just because
The holy
Text
Lacks
Footnotes.
