Are off traveling
Pre-interstate west
My big sister is baby
Sitting the four of us at
Home when our Grandma
Mings decides my big sister
Is too young and snags a ride
Across southern Illinois a guardian
Angel flying by car to check up on
Us at our home which she looks
Over for any problems pantry
Contents clean clothes and
Fresh vegetables finding
Nothing amiss until she
Opens the icebox you
Call a fridge and bam
Draws out our cold
Water bottle by
Two fingers as
It is a whisky
Bottle used
For cold
Water
Telling us
Fermented spirits
Have contaminated this
Glass bottle making it unfit
For children to be exposed to
When we just thought it was
Recycling an amusing kind
Of shaped bottle but out
It went and Grandma
Fixed us a proper
Baptist meal of
Ham potatoes
Green yellow
And orange
Vegetables
Lots of
Lard
And the Lord
