Kids are why
We are here having
Them raising them until
We send them into the world
To do the same if we have brought
Them up with both love discipline,
Faith in God and a foundation of
Ethics over morals since each
Society has its own morals
But all share the human
Ethics but as a parent
The way is not easy
Requiring constant
Attention to one’s
Children as every
Thing else is just
So much paper.
Love comes
Easily but
Discipline
Is hard on kids
And parents since
It is easier to never say
No to a child but chores and
Schedules responsibility and if
Necessary punishment moderate
But inflexible except on birthdays
Or holidays to teach exceptions
To any rule knowing as parents
We have given hostages to
Fate working molding we
Guide them protect but
Not coddle educating
Them then risking
Military service
College and at
Some point
The one
They
Will bond
With closer
Than to us and
Again with children
Of their own more precious
Than their mate until grown up
The kids go on to their assignment.
They don’t call them
Little goats for
Nothing.
