Why

I hear folks
Ask why am I
Here and I think
To help raise children,
Not the right answer for
A Christian whose purpose
Is their personal salvation like
Bunyan’s every man in Pilgrim’s
Progress while other perspectives
Like karma or surrender to God
Or to maximize a portfolio or
Have the most toys or look
The most stereotypically
Glamorous or some
Such nonsense
But I think it is
To help raise
Children as
Much as is
Possible.
All else
Seems
Too selfish
Too self-centered
Too empty of meaning
As we are each part of society
And what benefits us all
Benefits us each so
Help raise our
Children
Seems
Best.
