Burger

I am 30
Driving my
Wife and three
Sons to the Gila
Wilderness to back
Pack but hunger stops
Us in Abilene Texas at a
Roadside burger place with
Dozens of old pickups around
It so we order burgers fries cokes
And in a few minutes out come
Huge burgers a hill of thick
Fries and cokes with soft
Crunchy ice all of which
Are more delicious to
Taste than possible.
Each bite of burger
Is wonderful each
Fry a delight as
We stuff our
Faces and
Smile at
Each
Other not
Wanting to
Leave so even
If you are not on
Your way west to
The wilderness you
Can still find a burger
Place by a Texas road.
You’ll see a herd of
Pickups, then the
Smell of burgers
Fries in hot
Grease
Then
You
Are there.
