Tent

Kids in a tent
Setting it up and
Knocking it down is
Hours of relief for Mom
And what kid does not like
The smell of old canvas and
Last summer’s pine needles still
Sticky with sap from memories
Gone by the time as teens my
Cousin and I figured out how
Her bra unsnapped in the
Cramped tent wondering
Who might be listening
To us on the other
Side of the
Heavy
Green canvas
But transfixed by
A shared moment of
Awareness being bad
Can be a lot of fun
As long as you
Do not get
Caught.
