I taught the 13th
Grade for 46 years
College freshmen who
Were distracted by each
Other and life but I saw my
Job in a survey history course
As teaching my students to get
Real a lesson learned more easily
In the classroom than their first
Few days in combat or even in
Business a lesson they could
See by reading history and
Profiting by the mistakes
Of others who had not
Got real and paid the
Price of learning a
Lesson first hand
So if they got a
Grip on all the
Mistakes in
History it
Might
Let
Them
Get real
And avoid
The same sort
Of mistake themselves.
They would ask me why no
Numerical grade was on their
Essay but only a satisfactory
Or an unsatisfactory and I
Told them their future
Boss at their six
Months review
Would give
Them the
Same
Rating
And let go
Unsatisfactory
Employees
Without
A make
Up
Test.
