Pain
Orcas
Tigers and
Humans find
Pleasure in inflicting
Pain perhaps because
Their cognizance of pain
Draws them to it as an apex
Predator it’s what they do to
Survive just another day in
Their office abattoir sort
Of a watercooler spot
Of gossip mulling on
How their victims
React to death
Or injury like
Romans in
A crowd
At the
Coliseum
Munching snacks
Watching blood flow
Thumbs up or down
Posca sour wine
Spilled more in
Regret than
The blood
Of their
Victim
Below. We
Who are about
To die salute you.
We like it. Cry havoc
And let slip the dogs of war.
Orcas and tigers and humans
Oh my. We like it.
Oh my,
Pain.
