Marriage

I am 19
When I meet
Her my freshman
Year in college in October
Moving in with her and her two
Young sons 5 and 2 and now
Two years later getting
Married we expect
A third child by
October and
She shows
Me her
Dress
Which is
Yellow she
Explains that
White covers lies
But I am too dense
To hear her yet I am
Aware she is taking an
Enormous gamble wed to
Me five years her junior
With who knows what
Future or how I will
Play out but she
Is brave rolling
Dice with fate
Hoping I will
Mature in
Time a
Help
Rather than
A hindrance in life.
Marriage like love is a
Leap of faith into the unknown.
We are partners for 52 years
Both understanding the
Imperfections of the
Human heart both
Forgiving both
Proud of our
Three sons
We are
Who
Our parents
Made us to be
For better or worse
Friends in the
Deep woods
Of the
Heart.
