Silence

It is true under
Law that silence
Gives consent yet
I think there is some
Magic in silence if not
Taken in too large a dose.
The quiet of the wilderness
Was a tonic for the soul after
A few days one noticed the odd
Absence of city sounds engines and
Household appliances of all the
Sounds we become inured to
In our day-to-day lives we
Take for granted never
Realizing the beauty
Of silence in which
We begin again to
Hear what or own
Forbears heard
At dawn and
Dusk when
Only the
Wind
Made
The trees
Sing water
Spoke it’s varied
Dialects and nature
Talked to us mostly in
Hushed tones but once
In awhile with a tiger’s roar.
