Rain last week
More rain this week
Perfect early Springtime
Weather snug inside waiting
For sunny days to return when
No coronavirus separates us from
One another family and friends all
Able once again to gather at our
Homes cafes schools stadiums
Gyms and picnics side by side
Along an old long picnic table
Sharing food and drink all
Laughing talking crying
Kids loud teens and
Grandma silently
Observing her
Progeny whirl
And clump
Around her
Together
Again.
Meanwhile
We hibernate
Late this rainy
Springtime just
As we did when
I was a little kid
Only without
School and
The scent
Of a coal
Furnace
Manila
Paper
Chalk
Paints
Crayons.
