Man

1956
I am ten
Learning how
To make a real man
Of gingerbread mixing
Flour a few eggs & ginger
nutmeg cinnamon & brown
Sugar then roll it flat and use
A cookie cutter to punch out
And bake a tray of ginger
Bread men of which the
Few broken or too well
Done get tossed
To me and my
Younger sibs
A delicious
Christmas
Delight
We gobble up.
A real gingerbread
Man doesn’t fall apart
And if he does he is ours
To devour one lesson ironic
Even at the young age of ten.
