I am six
Headed for
School and my
Parents ask me how
I want to be called either
My first name Stephen or my
Second name Daniel which is how
My family calls me using Danny
So I opt for Danny or Daniel.
When as an adult I begin
To travel overseas I am
Forced to use my first
Name as my official
Passport uses it so
For the last 47 or
So years I have
Been asked
Why is it
You use
Two
Names.
My close friends
Call me Dan but those
Looking at my passport use
Stephen though I answer to either.
I and my younger sibs were each
Given one name from the New
Testament and one from the
Old Testament since my
Mom was Jewish and
My Dad Baptist so
They picked a
Religion half
Way in
Between
Presbyterian
Because it had
Both guilt and Jesus.
